Basic photography lessons that I’ve relearned the hard way (during salsa shoot):
- The lens cap will mess with your metering if you’re unfortunate enough not to take it off your lens.
- Zoom before you focus (sigh!)
- Auto focus may as well not exist in low light.
- Manual focusing takes practice. Manual focusing in low light is just mean.
- On-camera flash is… on-camera flash. Greatness should never be expected.
- All things come to an end. Including battery life and flash range.
- When all else fails, fix it in post.
Impressive! As I was there while you took this particular photo, I really like the end result. One of my favorite action shots.
